The Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main) has replaced AIEEE from 2013 onwards as the single admission test for admission to engineering colleges like NIT Tiruchirapalli (including all IIITs and other CFTIs) across Tamil Nadu as well as India.
The Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Advanced) has replaced the IIT-JEE from 2013 onwards as the single admission test for a seat in any of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) including IIT Madras.
The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) is an admission test conducted by VIT, Vellore. On the basis of scores in VITEEE, candidates obtain admission in the first semester and first year of engineering degree programs leading to the award of the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) and other programs.

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) is the centralised admission process for admission into the first semester of the engineering degree programs in the engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu.
