Tamil Nadu Ayurvedic Colleges Address

Tamil Nadu has rich tradition of ancient medical practices. Ayurveda is one of the most effective medical practices persist in Tamil Nadu over centuries. Today, with the development of science and technology in India, the traditional medical practices have also been given special emphasis for their development.

At present, T.N. has about 7 Ayurveda colleges which offer course like BAMS - Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery which is a degree program of 5 and ½ years duration. The colleges are affiliated to Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. The qualified Ayurveda degree holders are appointed by both government and private hospitals and health centres.

Tamil Nadu has also set up several Manufacturing Units and R&D Centers for Ayurvedic medicines. These are located in Kanjicode and in Coimbatore. The wide spread acceptability of Ayurveda round the globe has prompted a tie-up with a Singapore Company for exclusive marketing of Ayurveda products.
