Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Karunya University) is a deemed university located 25 kms away from Coimbatore city in a very scenic place surrounded by hills and forests. The history of the institute dates back to 1981 when Dr. D. G. S. Dhinakaran received a divine message to start a Technological University which could offer quality technical education to the students.

The Institute was established subsequently with great efforts made by Dhinakaran who had a vision of producing engineers who could excel both in academics and values. The individual learners were also to offer the right combination of academic excellence, personality development and spiritual values.

The main objectives of the institute are to provide best opportunities and environment to the students for higher education and research in Sciences and Technology and enable them to attain very high levels of academic excellence as well as scientific, technical and professional competency.

Owing to its academic excellence, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences has been accredited with ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the University Grants Commission.
